Fully Functional Configuration
When building a food trailer, what matters most? A convenient flow design for cooking, combined with comprehensive functionality.
In our standard trailer designs, we include dual sinks for washing and cleaning, 304 food-grade stainless steel workbenches for food preparation, ample electrical sockets for kitchen equipment, a table fridge or freezer for food storage, and additional cabinets for storing supplies.
The workflow is seamless: take food from the fridge, wash it in the sink, prepare it on the workbench, cook under the range hood, and serve customers through the selling window.
If you have additional requirements—such as a vertical drink fridge, dishwasher, or ice maker—we can create a customized layout tailored to your needs and confirmed through 3D renderings before production.
Rust Prevention
Food trailers are constantly exposed to both sunlight and rain. Over time, this exposure makes components prone to rust and eventual breakdown.To prevent such issues and maximize the trailer’s lifespan, we take the following steps.
First, high-quality materials are essential. The chassis and frame are constructed entirely from galvanized pipes. However, cutting and welding create exposed areas where the underlying iron can rust. To address this, we apply an additional hot-dip galvanizing process to the finished chassis for enhanced protection.
For the interior, even though it’s shielded from direct weather exposure, we still use premium materials to elevate Chris Machinery trailers. All workbenches are made from 304 stainless steel, and even the smallest components on the body are crafted from the same durable material.
Car Grade Painting
Food trailers are not just about selling food—they often serve as brand ambassadors. A visually striking trailer is sure to attract more attention to your business. If the paint begins to peel, it can make the trailer appear aged and rundown, and the expense of repainting is huge. That’s why durable paint is an essential investment.
While many are aware of the correct painting steps, few emphasize the importance of high-quality materials and standardized procedures. For instance, using P2000 sandpaper for polishing yields far better results than P1000. Additionally, after polishing, it’s crucial to ensure that no oily substances come into contact with the surface, as this can prevent the paint from adhering properly to the primer, leading to peeling. Unfortunately, this critical step is often overlooked. Even if the surface is re-polished and corrected later, the damage is often irreversible, and the paint may still peel over time.
Waterproof Design
Generally speaking, trailers are typically stored outdoors, making them inevitably exposed to rain. If a trailer leaks, it can lead to water accumulation inside, requiring cleanup. In more severe cases, this can damage the electrical wiring, causing short circuits, or even lead to internal rust, significantly reducing the trailer’s lifespan.
To address this issue, we have implemented design solutions to eliminate such risks.
First, all holes on the interior frame are filled with foam adhesive to prevent rainwater from seeping into the body. Additionally, the rivets across the entire vehicle are sealed to ensure no water ingress. For areas requiring movement, such as doors and windows, we have created fiberglass molds to form rain barriers, combining both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.
Compliant Electricity
Chris Machinery has been supplying trailers to multiple countries and is well-versed in local electrical regulations.While there may be slight variations between countries, the safety requirements are universally stringent. All vehicle circuits must be properly grounded, and all wiring must be certified. Internal wiring must be neatly organized and secured to prevent short circuits caused by cuts or breaks.
A circular wiring system enhances safety. Depending on the power requirements, RCDs (Residual Current Devices) are selected with appropriate amperage ratings to ensure the circuit breaker functions correctly. Inside the trailer, Wago connectors are used for all electrical connections to maintain reliability.
The wiring specifications vary based on power needs. For instance, the main plug may require 6mm wiring, standard sockets may use 4mm, and lighting fixtures may need 2.5mm or smaller cables.
Floor Selection
Many people overlook the importance of flooring when making a purchase. We tend to focus more on the exterior appearance of the trailer and the arrangement of internal equipment, rarely considering the critical role the floor plays.
Currently, most flooring option is aluminum, which is sturdy and durable. However, these plates have seams that, over time, can wear down significantly. No matter how thoroughly you clean them, they still appear dirty. Some suppliers offer floor leather, which provides a seamless look, leaving no gaps for dirt. However, floor leather is prone to scratches, and if one section is damaged, the entire floor needs to be replaced.
The fiberglass floor we recommend, is installed as one piece with high strength. It combines the advantage of floor leather and aluminum plates. it will look fresh and clean after a simple cleaning.
User Friendly Details
In addition to its eye-catching appearance, durable paint, and sturdy construction, users also need a variety of user-friendly features to meet their practical needs.
We’ve equipped cabinet doors with locks to prevent food or equipment from shifting and getting damaged while driving. A wind hook has been installed behind the door to keep it steady when opened for ventilation, eliminating concerns about the wind slamming it shut. Beneath the range hood, an oil collection tray makes cleaning grease spills quick and easy. Near the sink, a water pump switch allows you to turn off the pump when not in use, helping to prolong its lifespan. Foldable handles on the windows are both functional and discreet, maintaining a clean look.
